Caring for your Alstons

Since the Alston has a leather upper, it’s a good idea to use a leather conditioner every few months, or as needed if the leather looks dry or dull.

To clean your Alston, use any commercially available leather cleaner and follow up with a leather conditioner. For tough spots, gently scrub with a warm, damp cloth or damp soft bristle brush and allow to air dry. Then follow up with a leather conditioner.

WARNING: It is possible to over-condition, which may result in the leather looking and feeling greasy or oily.

How do I send a gift certificate?

After you purchase a gift certificate, you’ll be able to enter an email address for the recipient.

You could email it to yourself and forward it at a later time if you like.

You can also take the Gift Certificate code and send it to the recipient.

Do you ship internationally?

We do! We’ve sold Xero Shoes to people in more than 85 countries around the world.
We use the US Postal service to send our shipments. The cost to ship will depend on the weight of the package and the delivery speed you select; several options will be provided at checkout.

All domestic shipments come with tracking. Limited tracking is available for some first class international shipments depending on the country, and full tracking is available with all Priority Express and Express International shipments.

Though almost all of our international orders arrive without incident, we strongly advise you to select Priority Express International or Express International if you live in a country with a less reliable postal service, including (but not limited to) India, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, and Indonesia. We cannot guarantee delivery of packages shipped using First Class International.

International delivery can take anywhere from 3 days to 8 weeks depending on how long your order spends in customs at the border.

Please note that some countries do require the payment of import duties for international shipments above a certain value. We advise you to know the import regulations of your country and understand that you will be responsible for payment of any duties and fees imposed by your government at the border.

All packages will be marked as merchandise; as a commercial shipper, we are not able to mark a package as a gift (if you’re giving Xero Shoes as a gift, that’s not the same as us sending a gift).

Awesome! A Complete Game Changer for Men's Dress Shoes

I am a Catholic priest and so I need to wear black dress shoes most of my waking hours. I have some back problems and so I was investigating some alternative footwear. I am so glad that Xero Shoes makes these zero drop black dress shoes. They are indistinguishable from your typical black dress shoes, and yet to the one wearing them the make a world of difference. These shoes have done wonders for my balance and stability and also helped reduce my lower back pain. I wear thin orthotics in them but am still able to “feel the ground” pretty well. When I wear these shoes I actually prefer standing to sitting! They might feel stiff at first, but after a few days the leather will become soft and conform to your feet naturally. Also, I swapped the laces for a thinner pair since the ones they came with were a little bulky, which was only a very slight inconvenience. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants comfort, stability, and mobility while wearing more formal attire.

Love the shoe, don't love the lip

I could rave on about how much I love the shoe, but my only real problem is the lip of the rubber sole on the front. Sometimes it catches the ground when I'm walking and it's beginning to slowly separate the sole from the shoe. It could be the first thing to fail on my pair.

Love them

This shoes are the best I love the space that they give my toes I also bought some black ones that I wear all day at work I did have to buy some pads for my heel and pair with this shoes they are dream pair. The laces that they come with are not that good but they were a nice touch.

I'm glad this isn't available. I bought this in November 2020, and since the upper immediately began to separate from the lower - and my email to customer service was ignored - that pair's been gathering dust in my closet until I decide whether to try to glue them together or toss them. Not very happy about that. But I'm back for a replacement for my original purchase, the Terraflex, which has served me well until it fell apart from constant use. So we'll see.

Not true to size for me

These are very nice shoes, but they are too small. I would recommend folks ordering a half size up from their normal size.

It's Okay

They're okay. The left shoe is a bit more snug than I would want. I've worn them roughly a week hoping that it would break-in but it doesn't appear it will. The shoe strings stink though. One of them broke the 2nd day of wearing them.

I bought these when they were on special just to give Xero shoes a try. Now I want to buy a second and third pair. I would certainly pay full price if they were available. But Arg! They're not available.

My gripe and fix for my Xero shoes, fix this and they are perfect!

I enjoy zero drop shoes. They literally solved my sore knee and lower back pains. The wide toe box also has stopped my bunion pain! But, my one main gripe is that the vamp and quarter area of the Xero shoes, like many other shoes for me, has too much material. As my stable foot does not have an unstable high arch, this results in the eyelets touching one another when the shoe laces are tightened. My wife got me some some Aliston's for Xmas this past year and I could not tighten them as the tension straps would pull completely together before the shoe tightened up. I loved the shoe, so I used a razor to cut the thread at the end of the strap where the lace passed through and sliced off a full 3/8 inch on each end. I then remade the loop, resewing the shoelace. Now the tension strap pulls tighter, but the rest of the shoe is still too much material and the shoe eyes still touch. This was tight enough for my business-casual wear. Still, I liked the shoes so much, I bought another pair in a different color and applied my fix. These shoes I bought on sale for a great price, so to me it was worth it to shorten the length of the heel tension strap. 2 stars for having to fix them myself and five stars for an excellent barefoot shoe. 3 star score overall. I do hesitate to pay premium full price for shoes with this issue... If Xero can make the adjustment and remove 1/4 to 3/8 inch off the vamp... it would solve this issue for me, and I am sure many, many others with low stable arches who need barefoot shoes.

Feels so good!

I bought the Alston because I was looking for a minimal shoe I could wear on a daily basis to work. My feet and knees had been having problems for a long time (and I'm only 26!) and I noticed that when I made an effort to spend more time barefoot I felt better. I finally decided to look for a shoe that could get me as close to bare feet as possible while at work, and the Alston was it. Now I've been wearing them for around 6 months, and my legs and feet feel great all the time. I am so happy that I found this shoe! I'm sad to see that they're currently unavailable, since I will need to buy a new pair some time. I hope they're not discontinued.
